Critters is a crit group set up by Sasha Napoli and Charlie McGee (studio partners) based at Islington Mill, open to those who classify themselves as artists.
This is an informal crit group that meets once a month to discuss artwork or just chat about arty things!

Tasha Marks Scent Installation in the Lowry Galleries
Having researched and reached out to the practitioner Tasha Marks, during my time at the Lowry Galleries as Access and Interpretation Manager, I commissioned her to create a scent in response to L.S. Lowry's paintings, capturing the essence of his cityscapes.

This offered additional stimulation to the regular visitor, but also offered an alternative to a touch tour for visually impaired visitors as the paintings could not be touched.

See article on Lowry's website here (pictured below, courtesy of the Lowry website).
Sarah Marsh - Sensory Toolkit for The Lowry Galleries
Whilst at the Lowry, I researched and commissioned the artist, Sarah Marsh, to create one of her 'Sensory Toolkits' responding to the colour in L.S. Lowry's paintings.
Sarah creates these Toolkits with the ambition of encouraging sensory-led activity in exhibitions and heritage spaces.

Inspired by the Lowry Collection and the history of textile mills in Manchester, the Toolkit is made from workwear inspired fabrics; denim and 100% cotton drill. The objects and mats are inspired by shapes, colours and buildings found in the paintings.
This Toolkit was put out during the Relaxed Hour and could be worn or used whilst looking at the paintings.
